Childhood Myths

So while driving Medina to school this morning.. she asked me, "Ma, betul ke kalau kita simpan pensel sampai pendek pendek nanti Mak mati?".

First thing that cross my mind was, "My God.. they still believe in that myth? I remembered during my Primary school days, i heard of that sort of things. Did i believe? Don't know tapi takut jugak nak simpan pensel kontot dalam pencill case.

So my point is, that sort of myth still going around even to this new generation. Its been around for more than 15 years? maybe older.. and how funny that it spreads among the primary school stage. Maybe some of you never heard of it, but i did and now my kid. How long would it stay? would Medina's kids hear it too..?

Another myth..
1) if you lie on your stomach with your legs up nanti Mak mati.
2) if you sit on a pillow nanti bisul dekat bontot
3) kalau ngendap orang mandi nanti bisul kat mata

Even though i don't believe in these sort of things, and i will never teach it or pass on to my children, but they'll hear in school. Its like these kind of myth hangs around the classroom or something. Spooky..
