So, our 1st kid has been in school for 4 months now. I'm still in the maze with her daily spending money. How much to give? Is 50cents too little. Is RM1.00 too much? We packed her lunch everyday but she still insist on bringing some money to school. "Peer Pressure"? "The Joy of Spending"? u guess where she got it from..
Anyway, we've been giving her Rm1 a day. Taught her the value of RM1.00, how much things cost, and make sure you get your change! Even made her promise not to spend all RM1. Bring home some change and put in the piggy bank. It worked at first. But since i'm not around to check her balance when she comes home from school, i wouldnt know how much she puts in the piggy bank.
Untill lately she started to have a liking on crab meat. Yeah those red and white strips. Yeah i know its artificial. Yeah i know its not a healthy food. But i failed to talk to her out of it. And she said it costs RM1 for 3. Sometimes she wants to buy chocolates. 2. one for Redhuan sometimes Aisha. If Moe is nice to her, she'll get 1 for him too. Since then, the piggy bank has not been filled.
SK Assunta 1 had a 'sukaneka' last thursday.. and we got a chance to see what the canteen has to offer.
Price check: Those chocolates that cost 30sen only cost 20sen outside.
I'd say it was a worth visit to the school. Now i can create a mini menu for her and ask her what she wants to buy and give her the exact change.
This is one of the joy and lessons of being a parent. Need to be strict with her from now on. Been doing what she says, its time for her to listen to me!
"Cannot bring money. Eat what we packed for you."

Then the next day Red. But it all being put into good use. She shared the papers with the rest of the Rangers to make birthday cards for Bubbles!!
