What's a visit to Ah Choon without having his Sotong Goreng..?
Famously known as Sotong Goreng Ah Choon.

Ah Choon, still looks very live and kicking..!!
Story:
I lived in Lumut for a good 6 years (19984-1990). Banglo 15 Pangkalan TLDM Lumut. My Dad build the RMN Yacht Club as in the picture frame on the wall in the background. This guy here was the guy who runs the restaurant. A terrific Chef i must say. I use to dig for Lala in the sand on the beach while my dad and sis were busy sailing. After a bucket full of Lalas.. i would bring it to Ah Choon's kitchen and he would cook it for me.. He basically took care of my meals and drinks until my sister and Dad were done.
And his Sotong goreng tepung was, and still is, a benchmark for all the sotong goreng in the world!!
Now that the yatch club no longer exist, Ah Choon now runs a restaurant in Manjung. Every trip to Lumut from then on, would not be complete if we don't stop by his place. Even now after 18 years, Ah Choon still remembers me and my family and i can see by the big black & white picture of the Yacht Club hanging in his restaurant, the Yacht Club is still close to his heart.. and ours too... and i'm sure to every Navy kids from that era.

yeah... the lumut base yacht club was popular those days not only for the food but also for the international regattas that were held there.
I remember the good old days when we would sail to pulau pangkor on the laser with memel, azura and adrina. we would purposely tack at each other, capsize, swap boats and sail back...
